explanationThe Sélimène, with its distinctive Baccarat weight, scale, and brilliant brilliance, is a work of art crafted with Baccarat's finest techniques. Thick crystal and an elegant shape. Diamond cuts and flat cuts on the top, applied with light refraction in mind. The Sélimène, with its distinctive Baccarat weight, scale, and brilliant brilliance, is a work of art crafted with Baccarat's finest techniques. A mass of molten crystal is shaped into the base without a single bubble or distortion, and then precise cuts are deeply etched into the surface. Every step of the process, from start to finish, is done by hand by many artisans, and creating such an elaborate piece on this scale is by no means easy.M.O.F. It can be said that only Baccarat, which employs many of the "Best Craftsmen in France," could make this possible. This piece was designed in 1950 by Georges Chevalier, who was a designer at Baccarat at the time. There is an anecdote that it was chosen as a gift when Queen Elizabeth visited Mauritius (southwestern Indian Ocean, now an independent country within the Commonwealth of Nations, head of state is Queen Elizabeth), which was then a British territory. At the time, it was customary for gifts from British territories to the British mainland to be domestic products, but the fact that Baccarat was chosen as the first foreign product to be given as a gift speaks to the excellence of Baccarat crystal.
